Our Story
Georgia Humane Wildlife Coalition began with a simple belief: people shouldn't have to choose between protecting their homes and treating wildlife humanely.
Across Georgia, veterinarians, wildlife rehabilitators, pest management professionals, researchers, and residents have witnessed the unintended consequences of outdated pest control methods. While many people want practical solutions, they also want solutions that reflect modern science and basic compassion.
Our organization was created to help bridge that gap.
We are building a statewide coalition dedicated to advancing practical, science-informed wildlife policy through research, public education, and legislative engagement. Rather than relying on emotion alone, we believe durable policy should be guided by evidence, collaboration, and respect for both people and wildlife.
Our first campaign focuses on ending the routine sale and use of vertebrate glue traps while promoting humane alternatives and Integrated Pest Management.
Over time, we hope to become Georgia's trusted public resource for humane wildlife policy — bringing together experts, community members, businesses, and policymakers to solve problems that benefit everyone.

We advocate for approaches that work for people, property, and wildlife alike — including Integrated Pest Management recommended by the CDC and UGA Extension.

We meet Georgians where they are. Most pest and wildlife conflicts have humane, effective solutions.

Georgia Humane Wildlife Coalition is currently in its founding phase. We are:
- Building relationships with wildlife rehabilitators, veterinarians, researchers, and conservation organizations across Georgia.
- Compiling Georgia's most comprehensive publicly accessible research library on humane wildlife policy.
- Developing educational resources for homeowners, businesses, and legislators.
- Preparing our first legislative campaign to end the routine sale and use of vertebrate glue traps.
- Growing a statewide network of volunteers and supporters.
